Η εκδρομή μας στην Κρήτη... στ' Αγγλικά!

     Sea World

It is situated 5km from the centre of Iraklio. It is the best aquarium in the Mediterranean. It has a lot of pieces of sea animals sush as sharks, lobsters, crabs, starfish, jellyfish, morays and black nuns.

Knossos
The palace of Knossos is situated outside Iraklio and it is the most important.
It was discovered by a Welshman called Sir Evans in 1900. The myth says that the palace housed a monster, the Minotaur, but there was neither a labyrinth nor a Minotaur. They used to call palace labyrinth, because it had 150 rooms and a lot of corridors.
The Minoans stored their food, oil and wine in large amphoras. Men and women were short and slim, because of their good diet, consisting of fish, vegetables and fruit.

Saint Yakinthos
Saint Yakinthos is a small chapel on Maint Psiloritis in Crete. It took its name from a young man called Yakinthos.
According to the Greek mythology, Yakinthos was the great archer who was killed by Zephyrus, because he envied him.
The chapel has the shape of "Mitato", a traditional old Cretan bulding.
In the same place, one can see the statue of "the female shepherd" who is waiting for her beloved one, like another Penelope.
